Yes to Me
Written by: Collette Cottingham; Anontropolis
I like to go, go, go. I naturally offer myself up to help. I enjoy doing it. This last week was a fun busy week. Saturday morning I woke up with no voice. My intention this year was to find my voice, not loose it!
I pushed myself through another busy fun week. Yet it had been ten days and I still wasn’t better. My gut told me what I needed to do…I had to start canceling. I felt horrible. I don’t like letting people down.
I followed my gut and said yes to me. I cleared my schedule. I sat on the sofa with a humidifier, warm cup of lemon, honey tea and a scarf around my neck. I was resting, no writing, no dancing, no talking, just an imaginative girl resting in silence.
Two days later, I am one hundred percent better. The resting gave rise to some interesting characters. I am plotting out the perfect adventure for them.
Resting is good on occasion, I have reset. I am ready for the week ahead and I have a new appreciation for my voice.
Inspiration Challenge: What characters or plots pop into your mind as you sit in silence…is it a mystery, a comedy? Do tell!
