What a Doozy of a Time Eh?!

What do I want to see more of in the world? More Huna!

There is scrambling and an energy of fear, anxiety in the air. In this uncertain time, I turn to what Huna teaches.

The first principle is IKEThe world is what you think: Be aware.

The element associated with this first principle is wind. Wind, air, breath. Immediately my awareness turns to my thoughts and feelings in the body and feeling the unease quickly reminds me to return to my breath.

The Ha breath is one of my favourite techniques. Breathe in deeply through your nose, pause a moment holding the breath and then exhale through the mouth with a gentle HA sound, extending the out breath or the “ha” to be twice as long as what the inhale was. This can be repeated numerous times as needed. Returning to your breath is one of the quickest ways to calm your nervous system and oxygenate your brain. And how much better are we at coping with a clear calm mind? Much better of course.

Do it with me ….. inhale……hold…..exhale….haaaaaaaaaaaaa

Brilliant.
