Up On Nourishing

 In Personal Coaching

Life wouldn’t be possible without nourishment, and someone else right from the get-go provides us with it. It starts when we are still in our mother’s womb, and she sustains us with everything she takes in herself, which remains this way until we can take in food on our own.

As we mature more and more it becomes our own responsibility to provide nutrition for ourselves on all levels, meaning not only food and shelter, but also emotional as well as spiritual nourishment.

Do you have a cell phone? If you do how good are you with charging it once the battery gets low? Most of us are pretty keen on our phones never running out of power. We would never leave the house with a low-running phone battery, but how well does that work with ourselves? How much room is there in your life for the things that bring you joy? How much time are you willing to spend on supporting your own well-being? Also do you know what recharges your personal battery?

When you are looking for things that nourish you a telltale sign may be that they make you light up inside. They make you enjoy life the fullest. Often those things have been an enjoyable part of your life ever since you were young. You maybe just forgot about them. You can also keep your eyes open for new activities that have the power to sustain you. That can be an exciting endeavour and bring new energy into your life.

Talking about energy: did you ever think about the reasons you charge your phone? You know you need it in order to stay organized, connected and entertained. You need it. You are needed, too. Make sure your battery never runs out, because there are people who literally couldn’t live without you.

This week’s homework: What gives you the sustenance you need?
