The Great Divide
Written by: Collette Cottingham; Anontropolis
At times it feels like I am being ripped in two. There are so many pressures in life. Then you toss in decisions, resolving conflicts, body pains and let’s not forget about the worlds problems! I end up with a mixed salad full of stress.
A few years back I traveled to Iceland and literally walked between two continents. On the west is the North American tectonic plate and on the east is the Eurasian plate. These plates move every day. There movement is continuous.
A decision was before me, do I choose East or do I choose West? Which was the best decision for me? They both looked beautiful and peaceful, which do I choose?
I let my intuition decide. I choose to walk right in between the two plates. I found myself in peace. I realized no matter the choice I have to do what is best for me. I know decisions can be stressful. I follow my intuition and the decision works itself out. I need to follow my guidelines for keeping myself at peace.
I handle the mixed salads of life with long walks, dance and yoga. These steps help me reset and slow down. Just like the tectonic plates in Iceland I have to keep moving. I can move and be at peace. I remember to listen to the beautiful voice inside.
