I Did That…

 In Mindfulness and Meditation

“Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them” ~ author unknown

I love this quote so much. It speaks of empowerment. It speaks of community and solidarity. It speaks of standing tall in the power of your feminine energy. Being a woman is both strong and gentle. It’s a beautiful contradiction and thing of beauty.

I have been lucky in my life to be inspired by so many women. Both past and present, I have been inspired by women I have met and women I have not. Each woman leaving a mark in my heart and mind and inspiring me to reach for those big audacious goals. Inspiring me to be me, authentic, unapologetic, in all my glory me!

As I am progressing in my practice, in my personal growth, I have been exploring my relationship with myself. Like love, like happiness, the search for the inspiring woman in my life does not begin outside, but inside, within.  I am slowly realizing that I am truly remarkable. I have weathered many storms, still coming through standing tall, maybe a bit disheveled but still standing strong. While many have told me they don’t know how I do it, or marvel at how do I get back up, dust myself off and still remain positive, kind and compassionate? “That’s just me“, I think, “I don’t know how else to be“, and yet this seems to be some sort of feat. And so not from ego, not boastful but in honour of myself, my gifts, my resilience I truly honour myself. I give myself the permission to truly reflect on my journey and I have created beautiful moments and I have picked up the pieces of my broken heart and kept going. I inspire me! Wow. I sit with that. I close my eyes and feel that buzz of truth in my body. It’s a bit weird, sure. We are taught to play small so actually standing up and realizing I am a big deal is, in and of itself, a big deal.

There are some powerful female role models out there. And what we know about our reality is that who we encounter is a reflection of what we hold inside. So the next time you applaud another sister, hold space for a fierce warrior woman, remember she is a reflection of your awesomeness. How amazingly powerful is that?!?! It’s not competition but an exponential expansion of the amazing gifts the divine feminine in us creates. I celebrate you and in so doing, celebrate myself. Imagine the ripple of that celebration!

Hold tight to your light, stand tall and stand strong in it. For you may not know it, but you are the shining light and example for someone else, you are the inspiration for that other woman.

May we support and uplift ourselves in the same way we celebrate and uplift the women in our lives for we are that same woman we are lifting up. Enjoy this week’s meditation to do just that:

Light and love you this week as you stand tall in your power – and shine the way for women around you.
