Heart in the Sky
I have a vision of a world filled with many unique individuals. These individuals don’t look the same, talk the same or see things the same. Yet these individuals do something remarkable: they are kind to each other.
A world with kindness, a peaceful place; if we were all kind I think fear would disappear. What would you have to fear? No one would hurt you.
It is the simple things, hold the door, buy someone’s coffee, share a cab, smile and say hello.
If someone falls in front of you help them, don’t stand there and videotape it.
I try to understand mean people, but I don’t. I heard people are mean because they are hurting inside. Why don’t they show kindness? I didn’t have a perfect life, but I don’t want to make others suffer just because I am miserable. Nothing warms my heart more than to know I helped someone, either through laughter, listening or just being there. I don’t have all the answers, but I will try.
The key to our happiness is inside all of us. You can’t buy happiness. You can’t find happiness through others. Your own happiness is inside you. Take that warm light inside you and share it with the rest of the world.
Can you imagine the beauty of the world if there was no war, a world with hope, peace, and kindness? A world with shared understanding and respect for others opinions. Life still wouldn’t be perfect, the trials of life would still be there, but we would have each other cheering, supporting and helping one another to try and achieve our full happiness.
On days you are thrown into the rough sea, you would have hundreds of lighthouses helping you to find your way back to shore, where you would find a community of support, a place to seek shelter with no judgment, a safe place to land and a place of kindness.
We all walk different paths and have different experiences in life. Image walking down your path…suddenly all light disappears. You are in total darkness, the road becomes rough. Suddenly a small light appears. A kind person takes your hand and helps you through the darkness back into the light. You make it through those rough patches, because of help from a friend or a total stranger.
A world with a community of kindness — maybe that community of support and kindness starts right here with us.
Look up, what do you see? I see a heart.
