Guardian Angels
If you find a random note that says, “you are worthy,” “I am thinking of you today,” “you got this,” “you matter to me,” or “you are loved,” it could be from me. Why? Because, on one of my darkest days I cried all the way to my car. I couldn’t even see where I was going, and I really didn’t care. I had reached rock bottom. There, stuck on my car window, was a Post It note that read, “Smile.” I stopped crying. That one act of kindness stopped my tears.
Who was the note from, to this day I have no clue, but it touched my heart. It changed my attitude.
Now I look back on my life and I think of those gracious souls. Where would I be without them? The groceries I found on my front steps, the stranger who held my hand until help arrived, the woman who fought for me when I wasn’t strong enough, the person who sent me flowers, and the man who removed a mountain of snow from my driveway. The couple at the store who told me I was a good mother (while two of my three children were crying in the shopping cart).
Their little acts of kindness changed my life. They offered hope at a time when I didn’t have any. These people restored my faith in society and faith in myself.
I wouldn’t be here today without them. They politely took the time to listen to me, reach out to me, offering guidance when I couldn’t see beyond the storm. These gracious souls were my light in the darkness. I woke up each day, because of them.
Their graciousness led me to Consciously Woman.
I am grateful for Consciously Woman a place of love, peace, laughter, kindness, and joy. I love you all for lifting me up and inspiring me.
I want to be a light for others. I don’t have a lot of money, but I can listen, cry with you, or leave a random note for you to find. Maybe I can make you smile, even if it is only for a moment.
