The Value of Writing

I have a ton of them in the attic. Journals. Written down life experiences, thoughts and feelings. Expressing my everyday life on paper may seem trivial sometimes, but it is beneficial in so many ways.
I release the stress I gathered throughout the day and express my even deepest thoughts and feelings, the ones I may not even share with my closest friend, without any restraints. I celebrate my amazing wins as well as mourn my painful losses all the while learning from both. I record my chaotic feelings and thoughts until I regain clarity. I can express my ideas and dreams without judgement.
I may even surprise myself at times with my own excellence while writing my personal stories. I learn that I don’t need to be perfect to be appealing, brilliant, lovable and so much more. I record the wonderful insights I have gained while living my life so I will always be able to recall them. I see myself grow and become better page-by-page while acknowledging the hardships of my life and finding the gifts they contain.
So let me ask you: When was the last time you put pen to paper?
