Take Stock
Written by: Sabine Roggermeier; Gluecklich Im Sein
I remember last year when the very first lockdown started, one of the first things I did was take inventory of my storage. It felt good to know what and how much I had of the things I used in everyday life, as well as what I still needed to keep me going for a while so I could make an online order.
When was the last time you took inventory of all you are and have? Did you ever take inventory of all your “wins”? It is a powerful thing to do so.
Times are always uncertain no matter how much we fool ourselves into thinking we have things under control. That’s when uncertainty and overwhelm can overtake us. That is the reason why that is exactly a great moment to take inventory of everything you’ve got going for yourself. To envision all the things you are capable of and the great things you have achieved throughout your lifetime and thereby making a mental or indeed a written out list will let you appreciate how accomplished you are. Surely you will also notice the things you lack, but that is helpful as well as you can then decide whether you need to obtain those things or skills or if you can arrange to be supported in those areas. Acknowledging both sides will put you in a position of power in your life and serve as a vaccine against overwhelm so to speak, which we all need in challenging times.
This week’s homework: What is on your list?
