A Loyal Heart
Written by: Sabine Roggermeier; Immersion Coaching
You needed them to love you, to see you as you are.
They didn’t always do that; they never went that far.
Your answer was to try to please them, harder every day.
They never took the bait, no matter what you’d say.
Your heart took hits and suffered, bleeding from every pore.
You swore this wouldn’t happen, no really, nevermore.
You built a wall around it to make it feel secure.
You were convinced this was the way to never again endure.
Yet what you didn’t know: such is the nature of the heart
For you to sense either joy or love it is the very necessary part.
So in your life to feel the pleasure for any degree,
Don’t cover it up with bricks, but rather set it free.
It takes a lot of strength and courage to do so day by day.
That you may have the fervour to go on I do pray.
The loyalty of your tears cried in the silence of the night
Will bring it back for sure: the strength of your own light.
It does take time and for you to muster all your perseverance.
Yet it is worth it all to bring you back to balance.
The result is quite amazing, the one of effort and all cures.
Now you live it rooted in yourself, the life that’s finally yours.
