Discussion Topic for the Week of Aug. 7- All the Cool Kids Are Doing It
Hi Ladies!
I read recently about a fun new “game” that all the teenagers are playing these days with their phones. It’s brilliant and it’s all about self-validation and self-esteem. In fact in the article the kids described it as a self-esteem building activity.
It began as a conscious anti-bullying behaviour.
Here’s how they play:
They send a selfie via text, Twitter, email, Facebook…. any social media.
Their friends respond with “To be honest….” statements about you. To be honest, I love this photo of you. To be honest, I had the most excellent time last week when we went out for coffee. To be honest, your presentation rocked. To be honest, I love sitting next to you in class.
To be honest, this might be the funnest call topic ever!
Here’s OUR interpretation:
Post a selfie or a picture of YOU that you really like in this call thread. Post a bunch of them! They don’t have to be recent pictures. Let US “be honest” on the site. Let us fill you with love, beauty, and a most celebrated reflection. Let us compliment you.
For your public share, make 5 “to be honest” statements about yourself ie; to be honest, I make the best brownies ever (yes, it’s true, was just confirmed earlier today by a brownie expert), or to be honest, I’m a ripper skier!
Challenge yourself to post a picture of yourself each day.
Share also any a-has you had during the week.
To be honest, I am so looking forward to hearing your statements. I am so looking forward to our collective celebration of self.
We have just spent the last few weeks “clearing out” negativity. This week we are going to fill up that expanded space with exactly why we sparkle.
Have a great week Lovelies!
