Bio:
I started out in a small town in southeastern B.C., surrounded by mountains. Since then I’ve lived in a few places – Victoria, Montreal, Geneva, Calgary – and now call Toronto home. I have followed adventures and opportunities and in some cases, my heart. Along the way I have visited 20 countries and have driven from Vancouver Island to the tip of Cape Breton Island, experiencing a wide range of Canadian landscapes.
All of which led me to and through university in Calgary and into the field of communications – a career I learned through not-for-profit and corporate roles (mostly at the same time). I have always had a passion for women’s rights / human rights, and reproductive and racial justice. This contributes to a desire to continue to evolve and also to help others to grow – through mentorship, professional development and community.
Why did you join Consciously Woman?
As I embarked on a whole new life in Toronto, I was invited into this community as a way to contribute, grow and be inspired. And that has certainly happened. This is a place where I learn how to see ideas and challenges from many perspectives, giving me new ways of building my vision and influencing my day to day life. This is a community where I am surrounded by other women who share a sense of purpose – however it may manifest – in their lives.
What is your Vision?
Accessible Communications Consulting.
I work in corporate communications. This is an integral part of any business, large or small. My skills and tasks are critical for growth, yet they can be difficult to achieve, implement, and maintain. My job is to articulate to the buyer, customer, or end-user of any business, the vision of the owner and creator of that business. I am the connector.
I am working on ways to consult for colleagues, friends, and entrepreneurs that are easy to process and implement into their careers, lives and businesses. I think of them as bite-sized pieces they can tailor to their individual needs.
